When Fuzzy match is selected then you can edit this Fuzzy Level value. You will notice the score is always 100 when you select the Exact match.

The Fuzzy match option can be used to determine which records should be considered similar enough to be presented as potential duplicates or matching records.

Setting to 100 will find identical matches, e.g.:

  • The Write Way
  • The Write Way

For example, on the "Company Name" if Fuzzy Level is set to 90, it will match words/businesses such as:

  • PM Lighting
  • PM Lighing Ltd

and

  • Deep Bore Ltd
  • Deep Boore Corporation

Choosing a lower level will find more potential matches, but at the risk of finding false matches, as shown below:

  • Bakery Baker Ltd
  • Bakery Baker
  • Baks Booker
  • Baks Booker Ltd

If you set the level % too high you can miss some real duplicates. If you set it too low, then your result set may include records that are not real duplicates or matches.

We suggest you experiment with this percentage to find the best setting for your data set. The recommended value is between 90 and 95.
