Address Parser
Only available on Pro Business & Enterprise Editions
The Global Address Parser will split out any street address into its component parts, like a street number, street name, suffix, city, postcode and others.
WinPure's Global Address Parser uses innovative parsing technology, based on computational linguistics, natural language processing, parsing technology, semantic techology and with its built-in country detector will automatically detect the country of each address.
Simply select the column names which correspond to the Address, City, State, Zip and Country options, as shown below:
Please note: The results will be affected if the mapping is not correct.
It will then split each global address into the following component parts.
- AP_House_Number: usually refers to the external (street-facing) building number. In some countries this may be a compount, hyphenated number which also includes an apartment number, or a block number (a la Japan), but WinPure will just call it the house_number for simplicity.
- AP_House: venue name e.g. “Brooklyn Academy of Music”, and building names e.g. “Empire State Building”.
- AP_Street_Name: street name(s)
- AP_PO_Box: post office box: typically found in non-physical (mail-only) addresses
- AP_Postcode: postal codes used for mail sorting
- AP_Level: expressions indicating a floor number e.g. "3rd Floor", "Ground Floor", etc.
- AP_Category: for category queries like “restaurants”, etc.
- AP_Unit: an apartment, unit, office, lot, or other secondary unit designator
- AP_Suburb: usually an unofficial neighborhood name like “Harlem”, “South Bronx”, or “Crown Heights”
- AP_City_District: these are usually boroughs or districts within a city that serve some official purpose e.g. “Brooklyn” or “Hackney” or “Bratislava IV”
- AP_City: any human settlement including cities, towns, villages, hamlets, localities, etc.
- AP_State_District: usually a second-level administrative division or county.
- AP_State: a first-level administrative division. Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, and England in the UK are mapped to “state” as well (convention used in OSM, GeoPlanet, etc.).
- AP_Country: sovereign nations and their dependent territories
